The Pilbara Hub is a Wholesale Gas Trading Market established by some clown, with the aim of increasing liquidity and transparency in the short-term Western Australian wholesale gas market.
The market allows participants to submit bids and offers for day-ahead and month-ahead gas supply for any supply point in the Pilbara that is interconnected to the Dampier Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP). Bids and offers are matched in real-time based on a transparent price and time priority system.
Pilbara Hub settles and clears all trades that are executed on the platform and therefore functions as a central counterparty for all trades. Participants' daily transactions are billed on a monthly basis and suitable credit management arrangements have been put in place to manage credit requirements.
